Excessive Sweating

Botulinum Toxin injections are used to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, temporarily stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. Hyperhydrosis is a medical condition resulting in excessive sweating regardless of the environment (hot or cold) and can occur without any triggers. It can be embarrassing and uncomfortable for a lot of people whom suffer from it

RESULTS

The treatment is not a cure it is a solution to reduce the excessive sweating and make it more manageable on a daily basis, the aim of the treatment is to reduce the excessive sweating by 50%.  It can take a full 2-4 weeks for the anti- wrinkle injections to take effect and may last 4-9months as the nerves regenerate. The results may vary dependent on the person.

PRE TREATMENT CARE

To reduce the risk of bruising we recommend avoiding non prescribed medications that may effect this. E.g aspirin, ibuprofen, high dose vitamin C/ Fish oils. Consuming alcohol 24 hours -72 hours.  Trim/shave the underarms 24 hours prior to treatments, avoid wearing any deodorant or anti-perspirant on the day of treatment, wear a loose top or singlet top to the treatment. This will allow ease of access to the underarm area.

POST TREATMENT

Post treatment you may experience mild redness, swelling and bruising to the area treated, this may last up to 24 hours after treatment. It may feel tender for the next 24 hours, see visible small raised lumps in the area for 48 hours.  Avoid lying flat for the next 4 hours, no body massage in the area for the next 2 weeks.

We advise for the next 24 hours:

- Avoid wearing deodorants/topical cream

- Avoid strenuous exercise, hot spas/saunas, excessive alcohol consumption
