Dermal Filler

WHAT IS IT DERMAL FILLER?

Beautify Me offers the Juvederm Dermal Filler range. These fillers are smooth injectable  gel-like consistency made from synthesied Hyaluronic acid, with  lidocaine which provides anesthetic for the client . Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is responsible for keeping skin hydrated. Dermal fillers work to hydrate the skin , replace volume loss and structure changes in the face,  stimulate collagen and elastin. Dermal fillers are metabolized and broken down by the body over time. 

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Dermal filler is used to correct volume loss caused by the ageing process, correct asymmetry, redefine and hydrate areas of the face. Treatment areas: Lips, perioral area, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette folds, jawline reshaping , jowls and chin.

RESULTS

Results with dermal filler  can often be immediate, which is very satisfying for the client. The optimal results are seen once the filler has settled 4-6 weeks after initial treatment. The results product may last 6-18month, however the longevity of the product varies from person to person and many factors effect this e.g. lifestyle, metabolism, medical conditions.

PRE-TREATMENT

-Ensure you are well on the day of treatment

-Cleanse face as normal and if possible wear minimal makeup to appointment

- Do not have anti-wrinkle treatment in the same area for 14 days

- Do not have any skin treatment that may break the surface of the skin for 7 days prior to treatment

- Do not have international travel planned for the next 5-7 days

- Do not have any dental treatment planned for the next 4 weeks  

- Avoid Consuming alcohol 24-72 hours 

-Allow  2 weeks pre or post a vaccination due to immune response

-Caution if you suffer from cold sores, consider taking prophylactic cold sore treatment 2-3 days beforehand

 

To reduce the risk of bruising we recommend avoiding non prescribed medications that may effect this. Some examples are:

- Non steroidal anti-inflammatory medications Aspirin, Ibuprofen

- Health supplements high dose Vitamin C, Fish oils, garlic, gingko biloba

- Consuming alcohol 24-72 hours 

POST-TREATMENT

You may experience mild redness, swelling and bruising  to the area, swelling will settle after 2-5 days, bruising allow up to 7-10days.  In the treated area you may experience lumps, which are normal it can take up to 4-6 weeks for the product to integrate into the surrounding skin tissue

-No pressure on the face and skin treatments for 4 weeks

- Do not have international travel planned for the next 5-7 days

- Do not have any dental treatment planned for the next 4 weeks 

We advise for the next 24 hours:

- avoid strenuous exercise, hot spas/saunas, excessive alcohol consumption

- Active skin care e.g -  products containing containing retinol , vitamin C , AHA/BHAs-

SIDE EFFECTS

Common: Bruising Swelling Redness, tenderness, lumpiness at injection site at injection site

 

Uncommon: Develop and allergy to the product or skin infection

 

Rare: Severe pain, blanching , mottling rash, pustules which can be a symptom of vascular occlusion ( disruption in the blood flow to an area of the skin), resulting in tissue necrosis or blindness

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE
DERMAL FILLER? 

Pregnant or breastfeeding

Caution with those who have an Autoimmune conditions  

 Allergies or anaphylaxis to bee stings Anyone with permanent fillers or facial implants

Currently unwell with cold , sinusitis , facial infection taking oral antibotics

- Anyone with planned dental treatment in the next 2 weeks Anyone flying overseas in the next 5-7 days.

Avoid for 2 weeks pre and post COVID vaccination or any vaccination caution to anyone with prior keloid scaring 

Avoid treating 4 weeks post COVID infection

Juvederm Ultra™ & Juvederm Ultra Plus™ are medical devices Class III for the filling of medium size and deep facial wrinkles by injection into the skin and for creating definition and volume in the lips. Contains 24mg/mL. cross-linked hyaluronic acid Juvederm has risks and benefits. Cautions: Use in an area that has been treated with another dermal filler, people with autoimmune disease, or who are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18 years of age or have an increased susceptibility to keloid formation and hypertrophic scarring. People on blood thinning medicines. Possible side effects: injection site inflammatory reactions (redness/swelling, itching/pain on pressure) induration or nodules; discolouration; weak filling effect. If you have side effects or concerns speak to your doctor. Product and treatment costs will apply. Note: Juvederm treatment lasts about 12-24 months. Belotero® is a Class III medical device to smooth facial wrinkles and folds, correct facial atrophic scars, restore of enhance the lips or restore facial volume Belotero has risk and benefits. Ask your specialist if Belotero is right for you. Contains transparent cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel of non-animal origin with lidocaine 0.3% to reduce local pain. Do not use if you have a skin inflammation or a skin infection or until the infection is healed. Precautions. There is a risk of infection. Tell your doctor if you are on blood-clotting medicines as there could be an increased risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Possible side effects: swelling, bruising, redness hardening of the skin, pain, altered colour or itching. Lasts 6-12 months
